What it means to buy what you want now
A while back, minimalists were all the rage and I cut back on a lot of things in my life, from what I ate to what I bought, but then I asked myself, “What on earth do I want to do if I have to put up with what I want to do now and what I want to buy now? Where do I want to go?” I stopped living an extreme minimalist lifestyle because I thought.
New gadgets. A nice jacket, a good coffee machine. Of course, there’s no end to the things I could buy. I am a father of six, so of course I have to work to support my family.
But sometimes I vaguely think that I want ‘things that make me strong’. I don’t mean something like a good performing bike that will speed up my time in triathlons or anything like that, but something that will vaguely lift my spirits. Something that refreshes my mind and body. Something that makes you want to work hard tomorrow. Something that makes me want to do my best tomorrow. I want things that move my heart strongly, that lead me to an ideal future far away!
