booking.com 宿泊先から一方的キャンセルをうけ、もめるケース

海外も国内もbooking.comをよく利用してきた。そんなbooking.com経由で予約した宿。今月泊まるはずの宿、宿泊先から今日一方的にキャンセルメールが来た。

Thank you so much for considering our inn for your stay while on the Big Island!
We have an important announcement concerning recent events: 
Our hotel has just sold and the buyers have decided not to host the current reservations forward as they plan to conduct a thorough, complete upgrade of the century-old plantation estate. It sounds like they have big plans for creating something beautiful!
Therefore, we ask you that kindly cancel your reservation with us and seek an alternative venue for your stay during the dates you have booked with us.
If a deposit has been transacted for your stay, the deposit will be refunded within 10-15 days from this notice. 
If you would like assistance in finding an alternative location, you are welcome to contact us to discuss options.

じつは、これ。このホテルから友人には一足先にキャンセルメールが来たらしく、友人はエアビー経由だったので、エアビーは宿泊者都合になると評価悪くなるし、スーパーホストじゃなくなるから、お客様のほうでキャンセルしてくれという連絡まであったらしい。

このケース調べてみたら、結構あるらしい。もっとレートを上げて別の人に貸したくなった時、突然友人が来ることになった。その他諸々。でも、これ本来おかしい。間際で。調べると、去年booking.comと揉めている方がいた。

これを見て、自分はbooking.comともめるのが面倒だと思い、本日こちらからキャンセルした。こういったケースじつは結構あるんだろう。

booking.comは、行ってみたら宿がなかったなどということが、最近結構騒がれていたけれど、なんかとてもずさん。

I have used booking.com many times. I have booked accommodation through booking.com. The accommodation I was supposed to stay in this month, I received a one-sided cancellation email from the accommodation provider today.

Actually this. It seems that this hotel sent my friend a cancellation email in advance, and my friend booked through Airb, even told her that she had to cancel herself because they get a bad guest satisfaction rating and are not super hosts.

I looked into this case and found that it is quite common. When owner wanted to rent to someone else with a better price, friend suddenly decided to come. And many other things. When I looked into it, I found someone who had a dispute with booking.com last year.

After reading this, I thought it would be a hassle to get into trouble with booking.com, so I cancelled my booking today. I think there are a lot of cases like this. Recently there has been a lot of fuss about booking.com not being able to find accommodation when you go there, but it seems to be very sloppy.
