深圳Day2「おめえら、よく食うのう…」「天下一武道会」の後のような幸せ

今日も深圳。

今日は、昨日とはまた別のメーカーさんの会社を訪問した。

そして驚いたことに、昨日「中国の方々は本当にあたたかい」と書いたばかりだけれど、今日訪問した皆さんも、まさにそれを実感し続ける一日となった。

本当に、一日中「いたれりつくせり」だった。

まず、仕事。

昨日に引き続き、本当に素晴らしいメガネに巡り会うことができた。またまた大きな収穫。

そして、なんと昨日と同じく、お昼も夜も、すべてごちそうになってしまった。

この手厚いホスピタリティには、ただただ感謝しかない。

そんな温かさは、豪華なレストランだけではない。

今朝、ホテルを出て、ふらっと近くの食堂に入ってみた。

ローカル感あふれる店内で、注文を受ける店員さんは、正直、一見するとちょっとぶっきらぼうな感じ。

でも、出てきた料理が、本当においしい。

夢中で「おいしい、おいしい」と食べて、会計の際、覚えたての中国語で「シェイシェイ！（ありがとう！）」と伝えると、あの一見ぶっきらぼうだった店員さんが、クシャッと、本当に嬉そうな笑顔を見せてくれた。

そして、中国の方々と食べる食事は、本当に楽しい。

昼も夜もそうだったが、とにかくテーブルいっぱいに、もう乗り切らないほどの料理が並ぶ。

この光景、いつも「ドラゴンボール」を思い出す。

天下一武道会が終わったあと、悟空たちがみんなでガチャガチャと、あの丸いテーブルでとんでもない量の食事を平らげる、あのシーン。

周りで亀仙人が「おめえら、よく食うのう…」とあっけにとられている、あの感じだ。

出された料理がどれもこれも本当に美味しくて、見ているだけで幸せな雰囲気になる。

もちろん、僕も出されると嬉しくて、無理してでも全部食べてしまう。（本当に美味しい）

ただ、ふと疑問に思う。

これだけのごちそう、もしかすると、少し残すぐらいが「満腹になりました」という合図として、スマートなマナーだったりするのだろうか？

ともかく、こうした合理性を超えた人情こそが、長い目で見て良いご縁を生むのかもしれない。

今日も、本当に素晴らしい一日だった。心よりありがとうございます！

Shenzhen Day 2: The Warmth of Hospitality and a “Dragon Ball” Feast

Still in Shenzhen.

Today, I visited a different manufacturer’s office than yesterday.

And surprisingly, just after writing yesterday about how warm and welcoming people in China are, I spent the entire day experiencing that all over again with the people I met today.

I was truly and completely looked after all day long.

First, business.

Following yesterday’s success, I was able to find some truly wonderful glasses. Another huge find.

And, just like yesterday, I was treated to both lunch and dinner.

I have nothing but gratitude for this incredible hospitality.

This warmth isn’t just found in fancy restaurants.

This morning, I left the hotel and randomly popped into a nearby eatery. It was a very local spot, and the staff member who took my order seemed a bit gruff at first, to be honest.

But the food that came out was truly delicious.

I ate enthusiastically, saying “oishii, oishii” (delicious, delicious), and when I went to pay, I used my beginner’s Chinese to say “Xiexie! (Thank you!)”. The staff member, who had seemed so gruff, broke into a genuinely happy smile.

And eating a meal with a large group of people in China is just so much fun.

At both lunch and dinner, the table was absolutely covered with so many dishes, it seemed impossible they would all fit.

This scene always reminds me of “Dragon Ball.”

It’s like that scene after the Tenkaichi Budokai (World Martial Arts Tournament), where Goku and the others are all gathered around that round table, just stuffing their faces with an insane amount of food.

And Master Roshi is off to the side, looking completely dumbfounded, like, “How can you kids eat so much?”

Every single dish they brought out was delicious, and just looking at it all created such a happy atmosphere.

Of course, I was so happy with what was served that I ended up eating as much as I possibly could (it was all just so good).

It does make me wonder, though.

With such a generous feast, I wonder if it’s considered polite or better manners to leave a little bit behind, as a signal that you’re full?

In any case, perhaps it’s this kind of human kindness that goes beyond simple rationality that builds the best relationships in the long run.

Today was another truly wonderful day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
