イタリア・コモ湖　ベラージオとバルビアネッロ邸

昨日ミラノの展示会が終わったので、本日は朝からレンタカーで一人コモ湖。

ベラージオといえば、カジノ、ベラージオのの由来の地。

アメリカの実業家でありカジノ王とも呼ばれたスティーブ・ウィン氏がベッラージョで休暇を過ごすことを好み、当地の高級老舗ホテル「グランドホテル・ヴィラ・セルベッローニ」に影響を受け、1998年に、コモ湖をテーマにしたホテル「ベラージオ」をラスベガスにオープンしたといわれている。

もうひとつはダニエル・クレイグのカジノロワイアとスターウォーズの撮影に使われたルバルビアネッロ邸。今はウィンターシーズンでともに臨時休業中の場所が多かったけれどコモ湖。古くから貴族や上流階級の者が休暇の際にはこぞって訪問したというのは、確かに納得かもしれない。

Lake Como, Bellagio and Villa Balbianello
The exhibition in Milan ended yesterday, so this morning I drove to Lake Como by myself in a rented car.

It is said that American businessman and casino magnate Steve Wynn loved to holiday at Bellagio and was inspired by the Grand Hotel Villa Cerbelloni, a long-established luxury hotel in the area, to open the Lake Como themed Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas in 1998.

Villa del Balbianello include Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale and Villa Rubbianello, which was used for the filming of Star Wars. Both of these Lake Como locations are now temporarily closed during the winter months, but it is understandable that they have been holiday destinations for aristocrats and the upper classes since time immemorial.
