充足感という病「シュラバ」がないと幸せを体験できない体。

さきほどメガネの展示会で訪れていた香港、マカオから帰国。今回の往復の飛行機で「イーロンマスク」の上を読み終え、現在下完を半分ほど読み進めている。イーロン・マスクの「シュラバ」がないと幸せを体験できない体。その度合いが尋常じゃない。

「心の安全」なる言葉を耳にしたとき、マスクは、ふっと苦い笑いを漏らした。切迫感、進歩、起動速度など、彼が大事にするものの敵であり、背筋がぞっとする言葉なのだ。そんなからが好んで使う言葉は「本気だ」。また彼にとって、不安はいいものだ。充足感という病と戦う武器になるからだ。休暇、花の香り、ワークライフバランス、「心の休息日」など知ったことではない。（「イーロンマスク」下巻）より抜粋

充足感はイーロン・マスクにとっては病なのだ。そしてイーロン・マスクの「シュラバ」がないと幸せを体験できない体なのだ。比較対象できる人をまるで思い浮かばないぐらい徹底している。やはり、ここまでの徹底した方じゃないとあれだけのことはできないのかもしれない。

I have just returned from Hong Kong and Macau, where I attended an eyewear exhibition. I finished reading the first part of ‘Eron Musk’ on the flight home and am now halfway through the second part. For Elon Musk, contentment is a disease. And it is a body that cannot experience happiness without the ‘shlava’ of Elon Musk. He’s so thorough that I can’t think of anyone to compare him to. Maybe you have to be that thorough to get so much done.
