イーロン・マスク「お金は重要ではなくなる」

イーロン・マスクがまた面白いことを言っていた。

AIとロボットが進化すれば、「お金は重要ではなくなる」という。

もちろん、2036年になった瞬間に円やドルがなくなる、という話ではない。

AIとロボットがほとんどの仕事をこなし、モノやサービスを今よりずっと安く作れるようになれば、お金の役割そのものが変わるかもしれない、という考え方だ。

確かに、今お金を払う理由は「作るのにコストがかかる」からだ。

食べ物も、家も、車も、人が働いて作っている。

だから価値が生まれる。

でも、その多くをAIとロボットが担うようになれば、生産コストは大きく下がる。

「働いて稼ぐ」という当たり前も、変わっていくのかもしれない。

ただ、AIがどれだけ進歩しても、土地には限りがある。

人気のお店の予約も、人との時間も、特別な体験も、限りがある。

「希少なもの」はきっと残る。

お金という形は変わっても、何かの価値を交換する仕組みは、やはり必要なのではないか。

だから「お金がなくなる」というよりも、「お金を使う対象が変わる」という気がしている。

モノはどんどん安くなる。

その代わり、人とのつながりや体験、信頼、ブランドといった、簡単には作れないものの価値が、今より高くなる。

これはAIにも少し似ている。

AIは誰でも使えるようになる。

だから最後は、「AIで何をするか」が価値になる。

この話を聞いて考えたのは、お金がなくなる未来ではなく、お金では買えない価値が今よりもっと大切になる未来だった。

AI時代は、「いくら持っているか」よりも、「どんな価値を生み出せるか」が問われる時代なのかもしれない。

If AI and Robots Advance, Will Money Still Matter?

Something Elon Musk was saying.

Not that yen and dollars will vanish the moment 2036 arrives.

The idea is that if AI and robots handle most work and can produce goods and services far more cheaply than today, the role of money itself might change.

The reason we pay for things now is that making them costs something. Food, housing, cars — people labor to produce them. That’s where the value comes from.

But if AI and robots take on much of that work, production costs will fall sharply. The assumption that you work to earn might start to shift as well.

Even so, no matter how far AI advances, land stays finite. So do reservations at a popular restaurant, time with another person, and rare experiences. Scarcity will remain.

Even if the form money takes changes, some kind of system for exchanging value still seems necessary.

Rather than money disappearing, what we spend money on might simply change.

Physical goods keep getting cheaper. In return, things that can’t be easily reproduced — connection, experience, trust, a sense of identity — may carry more weight than they do today.

This reminds me a little of AI itself. AI becomes something anyone can use. So in the end, what you do with it becomes the thing of value.

Hearing this, what I found myself thinking about wasn’t a future without money, but a future where value that money can’t buy matters more than it does now.

The AI era may be less about how much you have, and more about what kind of value you can create.
