デジタル庁の「誰一人取り残さない」というスローガン。
ふるさと納税の「ワンストップ特例申請」も、いまやオンラインで完結する時代。

以前は紙を印刷し、マイナンバーカードのコピーを糊付けして、封筒に入れて送るという“昭和の手作業”だったけれど、今は「自治体マイページ」で申請できる。とても便利。去年もワンストップはオンラインで申請した。ただ、今回沼った。

すべてのきっかけは、一通のメール。
「【重要】ふるさと納税ワンストップ特例申請のお知らせ」

Macのメールソフトで開き、「オンライン申請はこちら」をクリック。
そのままChromeで「自治体マイページ」が開いてしまった。
これがすべての始まりだった。

ログイン画面で「専用プラグインをインストールしてください」と表示され、
案内に従ってChrome拡張機能「マイナポータルAP」をインストール。
ICカードリーダーのMac用ドライバも更新し、
セキュリティ設定から拡張機能を許可して再起動した。

万全の状態でマイナンバーカードをセットしたが、結果は同じ。
「プラグインが正常に動作しません。ブラウザの設定を確認してください。」

Chromeもダメ、Safariは非対応、Firefoxでも反応しない。
プラグインが動かないか、カードリーダーを認識しないかの繰り返しだった。

画面の下に「スマートフォンで申請」というボタンがあったけれど、まるで進まない。
何も完了しないまま時間だけが過ぎる。

あらためてスマホのブラウザを開き、「自治体マイページ」を検索。
ログインし、マイナンバーカードを読み取る。
数回タップするだけで申請が完了した。
かかった時間はわずか1分。

Macでの1時間は一体なんだったのかと思うほど、あっけなく終わった。

今回の敗因は、「PCでメールのリンクをクリックしたこと」だった。
行政DXの難しさは、システムよりも「どのデバイスから始めるか」にある。

マイナンバーカード関連のメールが届いたら、
リンクはPCでは開かず、スマホからか、公式サイトを検索してアクセスする。
これが今のところ、最も確実な方法だ。

Macで挑めば1時間。
スマホで挑めば1分。

同じページでも、入口が違うだけで結果はまるで違う。
「うっかりPCでクリック」には注意。

For One-Stop Tax Applications, Always Use Your Smartphone—Never Your PC.

On a Mac, it took an hour.
On my phone, it took one minute.

The Digital Agency’s slogan says, “Leave no one behind.”
Even Japan’s Furusato Nozei one-stop tax application has gone digital, fully online now.

Not long ago, we had to print out the forms, glue photocopies of our My Number cards, and send everything by mail—pure Showa-era bureaucracy.
Now, everything can be done through the Jichitai My Page portal. It’s convenient.
I even did it online last year.
But this year, I fell right into the digital swamp.

It all started with one email:
“Important: Notice Regarding Your Furusato Tax One-Stop Application.”

I opened it on my Mac Mail app and clicked the link labeled “Apply Online.”
The page opened right in Chrome on my Mac.
That was the beginning of the end.

The login page told me, “Please install the required plugin.”
So I obediently followed the instructions, installing the Chrome extension “Maina Portal AP.”
I updated the Mac driver for my IC card reader, adjusted the security settings to allow the extension, and restarted my computer.

Then I inserted my My Number card, fully prepared—
and got the same message again:
“The plugin is not functioning properly. Please check your browser settings.”

Chrome didn’t work.
Safari wasn’t supported.
Firefox didn’t respond either.
It was an endless loop of “plugin not working” or “card not detected.”

There was even a “Apply with Smartphone” button at the bottom of the screen,
but that didn’t progress at all.
Time passed, and nothing was completed.

Finally, I opened the site directly on my phone’s browser, searched “Jichitai My Page,”
logged in, and used the MyNaPortal app to scan my My Number card.
A few taps later, the entire process was complete.
Total time: about one minute.

After an hour of struggling on my Mac, it was over in an instant on my phone.

The real mistake was clicking the link in that email on my PC.
The challenge of Japan’s “Digital Transformation” isn’t just the system design—
it’s knowing which device to start from.

When you receive an email about any My Number–related procedure,
don’t open it on your computer.
Use your smartphone, or search for the official site directly.
For now, that’s the safest and simplest path.

On a Mac, it takes an hour.
On a phone, one minute.

Same website, completely different result.
Be careful with that one careless click.
