Melbourne
Today, I’m in the city of Melbourne. The parking rules here are a bit unclear to me. Five years ago, when I traveled from Sydney to Kosciuszko, was it like this too, I wonder?
Highways here don’t have anything like Japan’s toll booths. They say the system reads your license plate and charges you automatically. If license plates are being scanned everywhere, it feels like we’ve already stepped into a society fully managed by surveillance cameras. By the way, Melbourne’s cost of living is, as expected, high. And parking fees are steep too.
