台北の魅力再発見！

今日は、台湾の友人のメガネデザイナーさんに台北を一日中案内してもらい、改めて台湾の素晴らしさを実感。

台湾は本当に素晴らしい国。まず何といっても食事が美味しい！それに日本からのアクセスも香港ほど遠くない。最近の為替事情を考えると、香港の物価は日本の約2倍になってしまったけれど、台湾なら日本円とほぼ同等か、場合によってはむしろ安いこともある。それに街並みにはどこかノスタルジックな雰囲気が漂っていて、どこか懐かしさを感じさせる。費用面でも、香港旅行の半分程度で楽しめると思う。飛行機代は、香港とほぼ同じだけれど、滞在費を考えると台湾は本当に魅力的。これは定期的にぜひ来たい！

ちなみに細かいところで、面白かったのが台湾のセブンイレブン！一見同じだけれど、日本と同じだけれど一味違う。イーティングスペースが広く設けられていて、夜になるとセブンの中でビールを飲みながら気軽に酒盛りを楽しむ人たちで賑わっている。このざっくりとした雰囲気がなんとも心地よいす。あと、電子決済が普及していて、LINE Payも結構使える。

本日の旅の締めくくりは温泉。台北の近くにある温泉施設は、これもまた懐かしさを感じさせる場所。なぜか日本の古い歌がBGMとして流れていて、異国にいながら不思議と安心感。本当に心地よい時間。台湾は近くて親しみやすく、それでいて新しい発見が常にある国。次はもっと長く滞在して、台北以外の地域も探索してみたい！

Rediscovering Taipei’s Charm!

Today, my friend—a glasses designer—took me around Taipei all day long, and man, it really hit me how awesome Taiwan is.

Taiwan’s just amazing, no question. First off, the food? Insanely good! Plus, it’s not as far from Japan as Hong Kong is. Lately, with exchange rates and all, Hong Kong’s prices are about double Japan’s, but Taiwan? It’s pretty much on par with yen, sometimes even cheaper. And the streets have this nostalgic vibe that feels kinda warm and familiar. Cost-wise, I bet you could enjoy Taiwan for half the price of a Hong Kong trip. Flights are about the same, but staying here is such a steal—I gotta come more often!

Oh, and one cool thing—Taiwan’s 7-Elevens! They look like Japan’s at first, but there’s a twist. The eating spaces are pretty big, and at night, people are chilling with beers, having little drinking parties right there. That laid-back vibe is so comfy. Plus, digital payments are big—LINE Pay works a bunch of places, which is handy.

The day wrapped up with a hot spring near Taipei. Talk about nostalgic—old Japanese songs were playing in the background, and it felt weirdly soothing, like I was home even though I’m abroad. Taiwan’s close, familiar, but still full of fresh surprises. Next time, I wanna stay longer and check out more than just Taipei!
