Until recently, every time I ran about 10 kilometers, my left knee would inevitably start to hurt.
But one day, I realized something had changed.
For the past five years, I’ve been running 8 to 9 kilometers every week with some dad friends early in the morning. Without even noticing, I’ve reached a point where running 10 kilometers no longer hurts my knee.
It’s true what they say: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” No matter how big the goal may seem, it all starts with taking that first small step. Strength, after all, comes from consistency.
It’s easy to get caught up in dreaming about big leaps and skipping the process. But I’ve decided to keep taking those small, steady steps and to use them to reaffirm where I stand.
I suddenly remembered a line I heard in a movie or something.
“People hate pushing themselves to the limit. That’s why they can’t live the life they truly want.”
The truth is, most people avoid pushing themselves to their limits. And because of that, they often miss out on living the life they truly want.
It’s hard to push yourself to the edge. But if you nurture your ability to keep going, you’ll naturally find yourself moving forward to the next step.
Next week, I’ll keep running and let my “power to keep going” grow naturally.
