「ガラクタ」探しの旅

興味のない人にはタダの石ころが、専門家にとっては10億円の価値がある恐竜の化石になる。人生にはこのようなことがたくさんある。

この考え方は、人生自体にも当てはまる。視点によって価値は変わる。どのような分野にも、気づかれない隠れた宝物があり、それを発見するのは、まさに私たち自身の好奇心と情熱。

例えば、娘たちに火星に行く！というと「なんで？絶対嫌っ」と口をそろえている。確かに、火星に行くことは信じられないほどリスクが高く、非現実的で、苦難しかもたらさないかもしれない。でも私にとっては、想像を絶するほどエキサイティングな挑戦であり、無限の価値を持つものなのだ。

どんなことでも同じで、他の人が価値を見出さないものに対して心が燃えているのなら、絶対に追い求めなければならない。自分にとって、火星はまさにそういう「宝物」だ。他の人にとっては単なるガラクタに見えるかもしれないけれど、人生を捧げる価値がある。

だから、自分が心から価値を感じるものを見つけたなら、周りの意見に惑わされずに、それを追い求めていくべきだ。どんなガラクタでも、見る人が見ればお宝になる。そんな「ガラクタ」探しの旅をこれからも続けていくつもりだ。

The Journey of “Treasure Hunting”

What may seem like a worthless stone to some can be a dinosaur fossil worth a billion yen to an expert. There are many things like this in life.

This concept applies to our lives as well. Value changes depending on the perspective. In every field, there are hidden treasures that often go unnoticed, and discovering them is truly driven by our own curiosity and passion.

For example, when I tell my daughters that I’m going to Mars, they all respond with, “Why? No way!” Sure, going to Mars is incredibly risky, unrealistic, and may bring nothing but hardship. But for me, it’s the most exciting challenge imaginable, one with infinite value.

It’s the same with anything—if your heart burns for something that others don’t see the value in, you absolutely must pursue it. For me, Mars is exactly that kind of “treasure.” It may seem like mere junk to others, but for me, it’s worth dedicating my life to.

So, if you find something that you truly value from the depths of your heart, don’t let the opinions of others sway you. Chase after it. Even junk can be treasure to the right person. I plan to continue my journey of hunting for such “treasures” in life.
