46歳。メタバースについて学びたいと思いつつも、実際にはなかなか理解が追いつかない。一方、5歳の息子は毎日「Roblox」に夢中で、メタバースの世界を楽しんでいる。

そもそも、メタバースとは、インターネット上に存在する仮想の3D空間のこと。この空間では、ユーザーがアバターを通じて活動し、他のユーザーと交流したり、ゲームをしたり、仕事をしたり、ショッピングをしたりできる。まさに、現実世界の延長のような空間。

「Fortnite」「Minecraft」「Roblox」この世界に価値観が凝り固まったおじさんはいまいち没入できない。しかし、息子は自分の好きなキャラクターで、まったく違う海外のユーザーと新しい世界を探検している。

今後さらに進化し、現実世界と仮想世界の境界が曖昧になっていくのが必須というメタバースの世界。だからこそ、おっさんである自分もいち早くメタバースを理解し、未来に備えたいのだけれど、まずは楽しむというところまで何とかいきたいものだ。なんとか、まずは興味を持って仮想世界を探索できるような自分を目指そう。

I am a 46 year old. I want to learn about the metaverse, but I can’t really keep up. My five-year-old son, on the other hand, is obsessed with ‘Roblox’ every day and enjoys the world of the metaverse.

To begin with, a metaverse is a virtual 3D space that exists on the internet. In this space, users are active through their avatars and can interact with other users, play games, work and shop. It is truly an extension of the real world.
Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox – finds it difficult to immerse myself in. My son, on the other hand, is exploring a new world with his favourite characters and a completely different international user base.

This is a world of the metaverse, where the boundaries between the real and the virtual world must blur as it evolves in the future. That’s why, as an old man, I want to understand the metaverse as quickly as possible and prepare for the future, but first I want to get to the point where I can enjoy it. Somehow I want to become a person who can explore the virtual world with interest.
