Metaが、EssilorLuxotticaの5％の株を取得を検討

先日EssilorLuxotticaがシュプリームの株の取得を検討しているというブログをかいたばかりだけれど、Metaが、EssilorLuxotticaの5％の株を取得することを検討しているという。なぜかというと、EssilorLuxotticaはレイバンを持っているから。この取引が実現すれば、MetaはEssilorLuxotticaとの連携を強化し、Ray-Banブランドを通じてスマートグラスの市場を拡大を目指していく方向という。

VR（仮想現実）やAR分野において先進的な技術を持っているMeta。そこにEssilorLuxotticaのアイウェア技術と組み合わせることで、より高度なスマートグラスの開発を目指しているという。この連携は、ARコマースなど新しいビジネスモデルの展開にもつながる可能性がある。とはいえ、まだまだこの分野は確立されてなく、まったくわからない。なので、今年はちょうど終わっちゃったので、来年の6月とりあえず、シリコンバレーで開かれるスマートグラスに特化したイベントスAWE (Augmented World Expo)に参加してみよううと思う。

新宿と銀座で15年間、通常の眼鏡屋、誠眼鏡店を営業させてもらっているけれど、どう考えたって今後にAR、VRがくる未来、今までの眼鏡とともにAR、VRに特化した眼鏡屋になりたいと思う。

I recently blogged that EssilorLuxottica was considering taking a stake in Supreme, and Meta is considering taking a 5% stake in EssilorLuxottica. The reason for this is that EssilorLuxottica owns Ray-Ban. If the deal goes through, Meta aims to strengthen its cooperation with EssilorLuxottica and expand the market for smart glasses through the Ray-Ban brand.

Meta has advanced technology in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), and by combining this with EssilorLuxottica’s eyewear technology, the company aims to develop more advanced smart glasses. This collaboration could also lead to the development of new business models such as AR commerce. However, this field is not yet established and we have no idea. Since this year has just ended AWE (Augmented World Expo), I think I will attend the AWE smart glasses event in Silicon Valley next June.

I have been running a regular optician, Makoto Opticians, in Shinjuku and Ginza for 15 years, but no matter what I think, AR and VR are coming in the future, and I want to become an optician specialising in AR and VR along with my existing glasses.
