AIとデジタルアート
AIがすごい。そして最近、デジタルアートが本当にすごい。
2021年、レフィーク・アナドールが、ニューヨーク近代美術館（MoMA）が所蔵する約14万点の作品データを基にAIを使って新しいデジタルアートを作成。MoMAはその作品を購入。
AIを使うことで、人間では思いつかないような新しい形や表現が生まれる。アナドールの作品も、14万点ものデータを基にしているので、まったく新しい視覚体験だという。ただ、もちろんAIが作るアートは賛否両論。AIが作るアートは、もともとのデータに依存しているので、本当に新しいと言えるのか疑問が残るという方もいる。また、他のアーティストの作品を無断で使用している場合、著作権の問題もある。
またデジタルアートはインターネットを通じて世界中の人が家にいながらにして素晴らしいアートを楽しむことができる。オンライン展示会やバーチャルミュージアムを通じて、多くの人がアートに触れることができ、文化交流が進む。ただデジタルアートは技術に依存しているため、将来その技術が古くなったり、使えなくなったりする可能性があります。そうなると、作品の保存や再生が難しくなる。
そういう意味でレフィーク・アナドールの作品は、AI技術を使ってもっと多くの人がアートを楽しめる未来を感じさせてくれる。AIとアートの融合は、これからもますます加速するだろう。

In 2021, Lefik Anadolu used AI to create a new digital work based on data from approximately 140,000 works in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, which MOMA purchased.
The use of AI creates new forms and expressions that humans would never have thought of. Anadolu’s work is also based on 140,000 pieces of data, so it is a completely new visual experience. But of course there are pros and cons to AI-created art: some say that AI-created art is dependent on the original data, so it is questionable whether it can really be called new. There are also copyright issues if the work of other artists is used without permission.
Digital art also allows people around the world to enjoy great art from the comfort of their own homes via the internet. Through online exhibitions and virtual museums, many people can come into contact with art and cultural exchange is encouraged. However, because digital art relies on technology, there is a possibility that the technology will become obsolete or unusable in the future. If this happens, it will be difficult to preserve and reproduce the artworks.
In this sense, Refik Anadolu’s work gives us a sense of a future where more people can enjoy art using AI technology, and the fusion of AI and art will continue to accelerate.
