Alipay（支付宝）、WeChat Pay（微信支付）、Didi Chuxing（滴滴出行）。

先日マカオでクレジットカードが思った以上に使えなく困ったので、中国に行くのに先駆けて、あったら良さそうなアプリをインストールした。こういったアプリは電話番号で認証するので、現地で登録しようとするとうまくいかないことが多い。たしか以前は現地に銀行口座がないと使えなかったと思ったけれど、現在はVISAなどのクレジットカードをサポートし、無事すべてクレジットカードまで登録完了。Pay系は初期設定だと1500元までのようだけれど、現金を使わない今必須。

交通系、タクシーや配車系も、レンタル自転車まであるようだし、たぶんDidiだけで大丈夫だろう。昔は各国「現金」というものを使っていたんです。そんな時代も、もうそこかもしれない。

I installed several apps that I thought would be useful before travelling to China, as credit cards were not accepted at convenience stores in Macau. These apps authenticate by phone number, so if you try to register locally, it often doesn’t work. All credit card registrations were successful; Pay’s default setting is up to RMB 1,500, which is essential now that we don’t use cash.

There seems to be a wide range of transport services, from taxi hailing to bike hire, so it is likely that Didi alone will be fine. In the past, people used cash everywhere. Maybe we’re already entering that era.
