永遠に続く1日では頑張れない

時間の有限性というのは、とっても必要で、永遠に続く1日では頑張れない。

スポーツなどでも数ヶ月後に何か参加するレースがあるのとないのとでは、日々のモチベーションがまったく変わってくる。勉強だって同じ。仕事だって同じ。

きっと人生だって同じ。たとえば余命1年というのがわかっていたら、過ごす1日はまたく変わってくるだろうけれど、普通は永遠に続く1日だと思って生きてしまっている。

ただ本当は永遠に時間は続かない。そこが問題だ。

In sports, for example, if you don’t have a race in a few months, your daily motivation will be completely different. It’s the same with studying. It’s the same with work.

It is probably the same in life. For example, if you knew you had one year to live, your day would be very different, but normally you live your life thinking it will last forever.

But the truth is that time does not last forever. That is the problem.
