理論は無用

音楽理論、英文法、たいていどんな分野にもその分野を型通っている理論のようなものがある。理論を先取りしすぎても、やる気がなくなってしまったり、わけわからなくなるけれど、どの分野も、ある程度いったら、やっぱり基礎理論のようなものは、改めてやったほうが断然上達が早くなる。

理論は天才には無用。ただほとんどの人、99.9%の人は凡人。

Music theory, English grammar and almost every other field has some kind of theory. If you try to learn too much theory beforehand, you will lose motivation, but in any field, after a certain point, you will definitely progress faster if you try to learn basic theory again.

Theory is useless to geniuses. But most people, 99.9% of them, are ordinary people.
