砂漠レースやウルトラディスタンスを健全に走り切る3要素。体力、足、足の裏。
先日のハワイのトライアスロン、ウルトラマン(10kmスイム、421kmバイク、84kmラン)で体力は問題なかったのだけれど、今回、足の裏がダメだった。
足じゃなく、足の裏。思い出したのだけれど、砂漠レースで完走するのに必要なのが、健康な足の裏だった。足の裏がマメだらけなどダメになると、体力があっても、足がまだ生きててもダメ。本当に完走が難しくなる。
砂漠レースやウルトラディスタンスを健全に走り切る3要素。体力、足、足の裏。これ、すっかり忘れてた。これからもしウルトラ出る時は、体力、足とともに、しっかり足の裏のケアもしよう。

My fitness was fine for the recent triathlon in Hawaii, the Ultraman (10km swim, 421km bike, 84km run), but this time my feet were not.
I remembered that you need healthy soles to finish a desert race. If the soles of your feet are damaged, like blisters, it doesn’t matter if you are fit or if your leg are still alive. It makes it very difficult to finish the race.
The three elements of a healthy desert race or ultra distance. Fitness, legs and feet. I had completely forgotten that. From now on, when I do an ultra, I will take care of my feet as well as my fitness and my legs.
