iPhone15 proMax。防水等級IPX8だけれど、水没。

先日買ったばかりのiPhone15 proMaxがお風呂で水没。

なおiPhone15 proMax、防水等級は最高のIPX８。IPX8は一定の水深に一定時間沈めていても内部に浸水せず、また同時間内に水中で操作することができる程度の性能。本来IPX8は、常温の水道水の中で、水深1.5メートルに携帯電話を沈めて、30分間浸水しても、問題なく使用できる。

確かにお風呂のお湯は、水温が常温ではないけれど、同じく防水等級最高のIPX8のソニーのスピーカーはお風呂の水の中でも使用できるほどたったので、完全に信頼していたけれど、iPhone15 proMaxお風呂に落ちたら一発アウトで水没。

改めてIPX８調べると、KDDIのサイトにIPX8でも注意が必要なケースの一覧があった

これって普通に使っていて防水性能発揮して欲しいところのほとんどがダメな気がする。

AppleCareなしだと、10万。AppleCareありだと1万ほどで、完全交換とのこと。まさかのIPX8の水没。IPX8を過信しすぎは禁物ってことかもしれない。

My Sony speakers, which also have the highest IPX8 waterproof rating, can be used in bath water, so I trusted them completely, but when the iPhone15 proMax fell into the bath, it came out and was submerged.

When I checked IPX8 again, I found a list on the KDDI website of cases that need attention even at IPX8
This seems like a no-use for most areas where you want it to be waterproof in normal use.

Without AppleCare it costs 100,000yen with AppleCare it costs around 10,000yen with a full replacement. perhaps you shouldn’t be too confident with IPX8.
