This surrogate writing involves making up the text of the letter on behalf of the client and copying the client’s handwriting.

It makes me more interested in calligraphers and letters than ever before, and makes me want to stay in a hotel with a hotelier like that.

That kind of life is nice! This is a really, really good novel that makes you think.
