マニア資本主義。「損得軸」に基づく経営よりも、その商売や製品が好きだという「好き嫌い軸」での経営。

登山用品のスノーピーク。自分も何点か持っているけれど、スノーピークのお客様の心の掴み方は、とっても参考になる。

元会長でスノーピークを現在の位置まで押し上げた山井太氏が会社を引き継いだとき「世界でいちばん高くていいキャンプ用品を作って、稼げる会社になる」というものを掲げたという。

「人間性の回復」「人生に野遊びを」自分の会社のミッションを端的に表す言葉を多く言語化し、実際にその方向に会社を成長させてきたスノーピーク。小売店をやっている自分としては、とっても憧れの会社だ。

うちはメガネ屋として15年。もともと性格的に「損得軸」で考えることができず「好き嫌い軸」での経営で、ありがたいことにお客様に支えていただきメガネ屋「誠眼鏡店」として今のところ継続させていただくことができているけれど、改めて、自分たちが大事にしたい「コア」を伝える端的な言葉はなんだろう？

Snow Peak mountaineering gear. I have a few myself, The way Snow Peak captures the hearts and minds of its customers is very instructive.

When Futoshi Yamai, former chairman of the company and the man who built Snow Peak into what it is today, took over the company, he set out to ‘become a company that makes the most expensive and best camping equipment in the world and makes money’.

Snow Peak has been able to articulate many of the phrases that succinctly describe the company’s mission, such as “restoring humanity” and “enjoying the outdoors in life”, and has indeed grown the company in this direction. As a retailer myself, I really admire this company.

We have been opticians for 15 years. Fortunately, we have been able to continue as an optical shop, Makoto Opticians, thanks to the support of our customers, but once again I wonder what is a simple word that conveys the ‘core’ that we value?
