「勉強なんかしなくてよい」「ちゃんと勉強した人」と「そうでない人」との格差
中島聡さんのメルマガがとっても面白く毎週読んでいる。そんな中島さんのメルマガに、以下の文章があった

人工知能の誕生により、「勉強なんかしなくて良い」「勉強なんかする必要がない」と考える子どもたちが増えることも確実で、それによって、「ちゃんと勉強した人」と「そうでない人」との開きがさらに大きくなる可能性があると私は思います。それは結果的には、「一部のエリートたちが社会を動かし、他の人たちは養われている」というディストピア的な未来につながるように見えます。

今まで自分は、英語なども、どんどんすごい翻訳が出てきたし、実際小学生の娘も英語などぜんぜん話せないけれど「スマホがあれば海外どこでもいけるでしょ」と言っているので、もう勉強する必要ないくなるのかもなと思っていたけれど、「ちゃんと勉強した人」と「そうでない人」との格差が広がるというのは、確かにその通りだと思った。
どんなにすごいスポーツ選手も、病気で寝たりきりになり、３ヶ月もベッドの上で寝てたら、筋肉がどっと落ちる。それが一年になったら、下手したら歩けなくなる。
それと同じで、どんなにすばらしい人工知能が出てきても、しっかり頭をつかい、体と同じように、やはり知能の面でも、日々、自分の能力の改善につとめないといけないと改めて思った。

The gap between ‘those who have studied properly’ and ‘those who haven’t’
Satoshi Nakajima’s newsletter is very interesting and I read it every week. In his newsletter, there was the following sentence

With the birth of artificial intelligence, it is certain that the number of children who think “I don’t have to study” or “I don’t need to study” will increase, and I believe that this may further increase the gap between “those who studied properly” and “those who didn’t”. This would seem to result in a dystopian future where ‘some elites run society and the rest of us are fed’.

I used to think that I wouldn’t have to study any more, because there are more and more great translations of English, and my daughter, who is in primary school, can’t speak English at all, but she says that she can go anywhere abroad as long as she has a smartphone. However, I thought it was true that the gap between “those who have studied properly” and “those who have not” is widening.
No matter how great an athlete you are, if you’re bedridden due to illness and you’ve been in bed for three months, your muscles will fall off in a big way. If you are bedridden for a year, you may not be able to walk.
In the same way, no matter how wonderful artificial intelligence becomes, we must use our brains and strive to improve our abilities every day, just as we do with our bodies, in terms of intelligence.
