今日は小学五年生、娘と二人の課外授業。

世界遺産になった五箇山。茅葺屋根の町。昨日説明いただき初めてしったのだけれど、あの茅葺屋根の寿命が30年ほどで、その都度、家が一軒たつぐらいの費用をかけて屋根の改修をするという！現代においては、むしろ高級住宅なのだ！

そんな中、娘の感想「屋根がちょっと変わっているだけで、長野のじーじ、ばーばの家と変わんないじゃん。寒い。帰ろう」

五箇山の茅葺屋根。ちょうど自分たちと一緒に見ていた人の中に、地球の反対側ブラジルからの来た人がいた。

世界遺産。娘が（自分もふくめ）この有り難みがわかるのはいつの日か。

Gokayama is a World Heritage site. A town with thatched roofs. I only found out yesterday that the life span of a thatched roof is about 30 years, and each time the roof is repaired, the cost is equivalent to the cost of an entire house! In modern times, it’s a very expensive house!

One of the people watching with us was from Brazil.on the other side of the world.

my daughter said ” It’s no different from Nagano. Grandma and grandpa’s house, just with a slightly different roof. It’s cold. Let’s go home.”

World Heritage Site. When will we be able to appreciate it?
