なんとこの本！地球の歩き方と雑誌ムーとのコラボだ！！
地球の歩き方といえば、現在のようにスマホ１つでなんでもわかるになる前は、バックパッカーのバイブルだった本。
地球の歩き方とコンパスでどれだけ世界を回ったことか。
地球の歩き方は有名になりすぎて、この黄色い本を海外の街で広げているとカモられるというのも有名。当時、皆、必要な部分だけ切り取ったりして、工夫してた。
なお、地球の歩き方は、バックパッカーの初歩本で、まずは地球の歩き方から入って、次は海外版の地球の歩き方、ロンリープラネットに移行するというのが、一般的なバックパッカーの王道だった。
そんな本が地球の歩き方。
一方、ムーといえば、学研が発行していて図書館にも置いてあるのに、だいぶ攻めた企画をしていてオカルト雑誌。1979年創刊、昔はオウム真理教などの特集もして、こちらも自分が中学の頃ハマった雑誌。
そんな飛んでも本「ムー」と地球と歩き方とのコラボだ！！
もうこの時点でワクワクが止まらない！
実際の中身も期待を裏切らない内容。内容は実際見てもらうとして、自分が思わず笑ってしまったのが巻末。
地球の歩き方は、通常巻末にスペイン語圏なら、「旅で使えるスペイン語会話」のように旅で使える簡単な会話がのっているのだけれど、このムーとのコラボ本、いったい何語になっているかと思ったら、エスペラント語！
世界共通語を目指して作られた人工言語、エスペラント語。
現在世界共有、公用語として設定している国はないし、話せる人は世界で100万人程度といわれる言語。ちなみに自分はエスペラントを流暢に話す方に未だに出会ったことない。
ただそんなエスペラント語、日本にもエスペラント由来のネーミングはたくさんあるし、実際に話せる人は1万人以下、下手したら数百人レベルだとしても、文化や宗教にとらわれずにお互いが理解できるようにと開発された素敵な人工言語だ。
そんな言語を旅で使えるエスペラント会話として巻末に持ってくることも最高！

I just had to buy it! 「Chikyu no Arukikata & Moo- How to Walk in Different Parallel Worlds」
What a book! It’s a collaboration between Chikyu no Arukikata and Moo magazine!
Chikyu no Arukikata, it was the bible for backpackers before it became possible to know everything with a single smartphone as it is today.
How many times I traveled around the world with Chikyu no Arukikata and my compass.This book was so famous that if you spread it out in a foreign city, you could be easily tricked by bad locals. At the time, everyone was creative, cutting out only the parts they needed.
The first step for backpackers was to start with Chikyu no Arukikata, then move on to Lonely Planet, which was the royal road for most backpackers.
On the other hand, Mu, published by Gakken and available in libraries, is an occult magazine with a very aggressive project, first published in 1979, which used to feature Aum Shinrikyo, etc. I was into this magazine when I was in junior high school.
The actual contents of the book do not disappoint. At the end of the book simple conversations in Spanish that can be used on a trip in Spanish-speaking countries, but in this collaboration with Moo, I wondered what language it was in… Esperanto!
Esperanto is the world’s lingua franca, or official language. Currently, no country in the world has designated Esperanto as an official language, and it is said that only about one million people in the world can speak it.
Incidentally, I have yet to meet anyone who speaks Esperanto fluently. However, there are many Esperanto names in Japan, and even though the number of people who actually speak Esperanto is less than 10,000, or even a few hundred, it is a wonderful artificial language that was developed so that people can understand each other without being bound by culture or religion.
And bringing such a language to the end of the book as Esperanto conversation for travelers is just great!
