欠乏がない ? create a new “lack”?
14年ほどメガネ屋をやっている。
以前はスクエア、細長い四角のメガネが流行っていて、現在のようなクラシック系のメガネ、丸やウェリントンのメガネなど見向きもされていなかった。スクエアから現在のメガネに趣向が変わったのが10年ほど前。
店頭でメガネを販売している実感として、クラシック系のメガネは、すでに多くの人に行き渡った感がある。何事もそうだけれど「欠乏」がないと、次のものを欲しいと思わないから、そろそろ業界も新たな「欠乏」を故意的に作りにいこうとしている時期か。
ただ、服もふくめて流行は20年おきぐらいで、変わるというから、このクラシック系のメガネの流れはまだ5年ほどは続きそう。

I’ve been an optician for about 14 years.
About 10 years ago, square or elongated glasses used to be popular. Currently trendy classic glasses were not in fashion at all.It was about 10 years ago that the fashion changed from square to the current classic-type glasses.
As a retailer of eyeglasses, I feel that classic eyeglasses have already been sold to a large number of people.
However,The trend of classic eyeglasses is likely to continue, since it is said that fashions, including clothing, change every 20 years.
As with anything, if you don’t have a “lack” of something, you won’t want to get the next one, so is it time for the eyeglass industry to deliberately try to create a new “lack”?
