バックパックの入門書「地球の歩き方」学研プラスに。
なんと！！「地球の歩き方」を刊行していたダイヤモンド・ビッグ社が、出版事業・インバウンド事業を学研プラスに譲渡とのこと。
１９７９年創刊「地球の歩き方」といえば、あのバックパック初心者のバイブル！自分も１０代の頃、本当にお世話になった。１０代のころ、地球の歩き方を持ってウロウロしていると狙われるから、必要な箇所だけをちぎったりして、それとともにコンパスをTシャツの下に隠し持って、英語のロンリープラネットなどと併用したりして、色々なところを探検して、本当にお世話になった本。
ある時期からは、ネットやグーグルマップで手軽に情報収集できちゃうし、何より現地の人に「いいとも」形式でオスススメを聞いていったほうが、より面白いところにいけたり、より面白い人に会えたりするので、自分はまったく見なくなってしまっていたけれど、「地球の歩き方」コロナでついにか？
人はいつまでも移動するという衝動を抑えられない生き物だろう。
