ジェフ・ベソスさんの110億円を投資した核融合発電所
太陽などの恒星が輝いているのと同じ核融合反応によりエネルギーを生み出すというGeneral Fusion。
核融合炉の方式としては、磁場閉じ込め方式や慣性閉じ込め方式などが提唱されていますが、General Fusionはこの2つを組み合わせた磁化標的核融合方式を採用するという。
これから本気で宇宙を目指すジェフ・ベソスさんとしては、エネルギーの分野も必須の分野なのだろう。
