ボトックスの記事を読んで、はっとした。

「表情が死んだように見える」

その一文が胸に刺さった。

シワを消すために筋肉を止める。
確かにシワは消える。
でも一緒に表情も消える。

これは深い話だ。

眉がほんの少し動く。
目尻がわずかに下がる。
額にちょっとだけ力が入る。

そんな1ミリ、2ミリの動きが、実は感情のすべてを語っている。

眼鏡店を17年やってきて分かったことがある。

お客様の表情は嘘をつかない。

「このフレーム、いかがですか？」
口では「いいですね」と言っていても、眉がピクリとも動かないときは、本当は気に入っていない。

逆に、本当に気に入ったとき。
目尻が下がる。
頬が上がる。
額に小さなシワが寄る。

その瞬間の表情は、言葉の100倍雄弁だ。

ボトックスの話は、現代社会の縮図かもしれない。

効率を求めて、無駄を削る。
シワを消して、若さを保つ。
でも一緒に人間らしさも削ってしまう。

完璧な顔より、動く顔がいい。

視力を矯正すればそれでいいわけじゃない。

「ああ、この人はこんな表情をする人だったんだ」

動く顔は美しい。
変化する表情は美しい。
年を重ねた顔のシワも美しい。

表情は言葉以上に正直だ。
完璧じゃない顔でいい。
生きた、素敵な顔がいい。

I recently read an article about Botox, and it stopped me in my tracks.

“When your expression looks dead.”

That line hit me hard.

Botox works by relaxing the muscles to erase wrinkles.
Yes, the lines disappear.
But sometimes, the expression disappears with them.

There’s something profound about that.

A slight movement of the eyebrows.
The soft drop at the corner of the eyes.
A tiny bit of tension in the forehead.

That one or two millimeters of motion carries almost all of our emotion.

After running an optical shop for 17 years, there’s something I’ve learned.

People’s expressions never lie.

“How do you like this frame?”
A customer may say, “It looks good,” but if their eyebrows don’t move even slightly, they’re not truly convinced.

When someone really loves a frame, you can see it instantly.
The eyes soften.
The cheeks lift.
A small wrinkle appears on the forehead.

That moment of expression speaks a hundred times louder than words.

The Botox story feels like a small portrait of modern society.

We chase efficiency and eliminate what we think is unnecessary.
We erase wrinkles to preserve youth.
But sometimes, we erase a bit of our humanity along with them.

A perfect, unmoving face is not better.
A natural face—one that moves and smiles freely, even with wrinkles—is far more beautiful.

Glasses are the same.

Correcting vision alone isn’t enough.
The right glasses enhance a person’s expression.
They look natural when you smile.
They don’t feel strange when you’re surprised.

They become one with your expression.

“Oh, this is the kind of expression this person makes.”

A face that moves is beautiful.
A face that changes is beautiful.
Even the wrinkles that come with age have their own beauty.

Expressions are more honest than words.
A face doesn’t have to be perfect.
It simply has to be alive—and that is beautiful.
