“The Universe Around the Neck” – Campo del Cielo
Campo del Cielo is a collection of meteorites that fell to Earth around 4,000 to 6,000 years ago. One of these meteorites has been made into a necklace.
The Campo del Cielo meteorite was born in a corner of the distant universe long before the Earth began to record its history. After traveling through space for billions of years, it finally arrived at our planet and landed in northern Argentina. The name “Campo del Cielo” means “field of the sky” in Spanish, and it evokes the origin of the sky.
This “miracle” that has traveled through the vast universe is now sleeping on my neck. When I wear it, I feel like I’m carrying a part of the vast universe’s timeline. Just thinking about it makes me feel connected to something bigger than myself, and it makes me feel uplifted.
