マカオより本日香港経由で帰国。人生の大きな意思決定は、どんなに慎重に考えようが、3回に１回は外れるという。例えば一生の愛を誓う結婚。そんな結婚も、現在夫婦の3組に1組は離婚しているという。

結婚はたとえだけれど、おそらく、たいていのことは、いくら慎重に考えたところで失敗するときには失敗する。結局、失敗するときは失敗するのだから、「浅はか」といわれるぐらいで、動きまわっていた方が良い。

Today I returned from Macau via Hong Kong. It is said that one in three major life decisions, no matter how carefully considered, will go wrong. Take marriage, for example, a lifelong commitment to love. Today, one in three such marriages ends in divorce.

Marriage is a metaphor, but most things, no matter how carefully thought out, are likely to fail if they fail. In the end, if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, so it’s better to move on, even if it’s “premature”.
