本日はバンガロールで1日。バンガロールといえばIT都市。現在は世界のITがバンガロールにオフィスを構える。それとそれとインド宇宙研究機関の本部がある街。インド宇宙研究機関とITの現状をみたかったものの、時間がなく事前の予約はなし。ただせっかくなのでダメ元で、インド宇宙研究機関にノーアポで突撃してみるも、やはりセキュリティの問題から突然の見学はNG。さらに甥っ子は今後IT系の勉強をするので、バンガロールのグーグルも尋ねてみるも、やはりこちらも突然の見学はNG。

今回は諦め、バンガロール中心地を探索。この街はリッツカールトンやハードロックカフェなど外資の大きいホテルや飲食も入っている。なお、長野の甥っ子が、このインドの旅一番感動したのが、バンガロールのヴィトンなどが入っている高級ショッピングモール。正直、世界のどこにでもあるようなモールだったので、それなら、わざわざインドに来なくてもよかたかも？まあいいか。

なお、バンガロール、めちゃめちゃ面白いビルがあって、そのビルが「プレスティージ・キングフィッシャータワー」このビルの何が面白いかって、一見どこの国にもある高級なビルなのだけれど、そのトップフロアが面白い。ビルの造形完全無視で、上にドカンと宮殿調の建物。調和なんてまるで関係なし。いやあ、ここまで振り切ってると、逆に本当にクール。すばらしいビルだ！

まあとにかくそんなこんなのバンガロール。他のインドの街とはやはり違う。個人的なイメージではジャカルタととっても近い。バンガロールを見ているとこれならインドの発展もわかるという感じだ。ムスリムにはヒンドゥーのカースト制度のように直接的な身分差別はないという、なお職業的にITはカースト適用外の職業なので誰でもなれると聞いたことがあるけれカーストという明確な身分の差のあるヒンズー教が78％を占めているというインド、資本主義という面についてはどうなのだろうか？

とにかくバンガロール、滞在しているホテルのサービスも素晴らしく、すばらしい滞在だった。

Today is a day in Bangalore. Bangalore is an IT city. The IT of the world now has its offices in Bangalore. It is also the headquarters of the Indian Space Research Organisation. I wanted to see the Indian Space Research Organisation and Google today, but I had no time and no appointment. However, we tried to visit the Indian Space Research Organisation without an appointment, but they would not allow us to visit suddenly due to security issues, and my nephew is going to study IT in the future, so we also asked Google in Bangalore, but they would not allow us to visit suddenly either.

So we gave up and explored the centre of Bangalore. The city has large foreign-owned hotels such as the Ritz-Carlton and the Hard Rock Café, as well as restaurants. My nephew in Nagano was most impressed by Bangalore’s high-end shopping malls, which house luxury stores such as Vuitton. To be honest, we can find these malls anywhere in the world, so if ‘re impressed here, probably didn’t have to go out of my way to bring my nephew to India.

In Bangalore there is a very interesting building, the Prestige Kingfisher tower, which at first glance looks like any skyscraper in any country, but the top floor is very interesting. What makes the top floor of this building interesting is that it completely ignores the shape of the building and has a huge palace-like building on top. Harmony has nothing to do with it. It’s really cool when it’s away from the other buildings. It’s amazing building!

Anyway, this is Bangalore. It’s different from other Indian cities. My personal image of it is similar to Jakarta. Bangalore is a city that shows the development of India. I have heard that IT is a profession outside the caste system, so anyone can become an IT person, but I wonder about the capitalist aspect of India, where 78% of the population is Hindu and where there is a clear caste difference.

Anyway, our stay in Bangalore was wonderful and the service at the hotel we stayed in was excellent.
