インド1日目。行ったら宿がなかったデーリー

夜、デーリーに到着し、本日インド1日目。夜デリーについて深夜12時ごろagotaで予約した宿に行ってみたらホテルがまるで無い。Googleマップで調べてもまったくでてこないし変だなあと思って実際いったら何もない。

デーリー到着は21時ごろ。空港からホテルのある街ネループレイスまで、地下鉄で。滞在先の宿までは遠そうではなかったので、歩いて向かい、その途中、現地の大衆食堂で、23時ぐらいまで夕食。

そこでたまたま隣に座っていた現地の方が、お店のオーナーさんのお兄様。話が盛り上がり、お食事すべてを奢っていただく。さらにそこからホテルまで車で連れて行ってくれるというので、お言葉に甘え、自分の携帯が指し示すホテルがあるというGoogleマップの位置に車でホテルの住所に連れていっていただくが何もない。

アドレスを今一度よく見ると個人宅のよう。アドレスは間違いなくあっている。行き先の案内やステイ方法の案内もまるでない。連絡先もなく、メールでの返信もなし。お食事を奢っていただいた現地オーナーさんに、現地に住んでいる方や宅配スタッフさんなど色々な方に聞いてもらうが、そもそもその番地がなかった。　

行ってみたら宿がなかったというのはWEBニュースでは見て知ってはいたけれど、まさか自分があたるとは！！今度はしっかりGoogleマップで調べてみて、怪しそうなら事前に連絡してから行こう。

First day in Delhi, India; when I went to the accommodation I had booked on agota, there was no accommodation. I searched on Google Maps and could not find a hotel, which I found strange.

I arrived in Delhi around 21:00. I took the metro from the airport to Nehru Price, the town where the hotel is located. It didn’t seem very far from the station to the hotel, so I walked towards the hotel, stopping at a local restaurant until about 23:00. The local who happened to be sitting next to me was the brother of the restaurant owner. We had a nice chat and he bought us all our meals. He offered to drive us to the hotel, so he dropped us off at the hotel address, but there was nothing there.

A closer look at the address showed that it was a private house, but we had no information about where to go or how to stay. There was no contact information and no reply to my emails. The local owner, who invited me to dinner, asked various people, including people who lived there and delivery people, but there was no address to begin with.　

I went there because I knew from the news on the internet that there was no accommodation, but I didn’t expect to get hit myself! Next time I’ll look it up on Google Maps and call first if it looks suspicious.
