死んでしまっても訴えないこと。
ハワイでトライアスロンの長距離版ウルトラマンの大会（スイム10km、バイク420km、ラン84km）も来週だ。提出してくれと言われた書類。
この大会で、万が一不測の事態がおきても大会およびハワイ州を訴えないこと。死んでしまっても、怪我しても訴えないこと。すべて自己責任ということを詳細に書いてある書類にサイン。
もし自分が大会を運営する側になったら、運営側としては、この一筆は必ず必要だ。参加者自身は勿論すべて自己責任と思っていても、周りが後からガヤガヤいってくることが必ずあるだろう。
そして、誓約書とともに、自己紹介として、あなたの好きな食べ物、好きな映画、何か面白い出来事、意気込みなどはないかと連絡をいただいたので、以下をお送りした。

好きな食べ物は餃子。好きな映画はガタカGATTACA。私は今回の人生中に必ず火星に行こうと思っています。火星は予想外のことの連続だろうから、地球上ではできるだけ、様々なことを経験しておこうと思ってます。今回の大会への参加もそのためで、他にも今までエベレストなどにも登りました。今後は海峡横断などもトライしようと思っています。

What not to sue when you die.
The long-distance version of the triathlon in Hawaii, the Ultraman competition (10km swim, 420km bike, 84km run), is next week. The paperwork they ask you to submit is a very US-style document.
If you die in this event, do not sue. If you are injured, do not sue. I have signed a document saying that I am responsible for everything in perpetuity. This will be very helpful if I am the one running the event. Even if the participants themselves think they are responsible for their own actions, there will always be people around them who will make a fuss about it later. This piece of paper is a must.
Along with the written pledge, participants were also asked to introduce themselves by telling us about their favourite food, favourite films and any interesting events they have been involved in.

My favourite food is dumplings. My favourite film is GATTACA . I am thinking of going to Mars in this lifetime. Mars is going to be a series of unexpected things, so I’m going to experience as many different things as I can on Earth. That’s why I took part in this competition, and I’ve also climbed Mount Everest and other places in the past. In the future, I’m also planning to try crossing the Strait.
