一時に成功すれば万事に成功する
今、松下幸之助さんの本「リーダーになる人に知っておいてほしいこと」を読んでいる。最近はオーディブルやYouTube、メルマガばかりだったけれど、やはり本を読むというのやはり良い。
その松下さんの本に書いてあった。
「一時に成功すっれば万事に成功する。一時に成功できないものが、あせって万事に手を出してもそうそう成功するものではない。まずは成功のコツをつかむまで努力をやめない。そして、使命感と気力、この２つなくして真の成功はない」
たしかにそうかもしれない。今朝泳いでいる、水泳のコーチは現役の時代は国で全国大会1,2,3位を常に争うぐらいの実力だったという。そのコーチがトライアスロンを始めたら、バイクやランはそれまでまったくやっていないのにもかかわらず、さすがの集中力と気力で、あっという間に大会上位。
何か１つをやりきっている人は他のことでも粘れる傾向がある。実際、自分も今までお会いした人はそうだった。
ビジネスで１から何か立ち上げて粘り強く何かを成し遂げた方は、それまでスポーツをまったくやっていなくても、本気でその目標をターゲットにしたら、必ず達成する。
逆にスポーツで何か自分で達成した人は、他のことも粘り強く達成する。だから企業も元●●代表という人を採用するのはたしかに理にかなっているのかもしれない。
成功のコツを自分の体に染み込ませるまで、気力でくらいつく。日々そのトレーニング。

Succeed once, succeed in everything
I’m currently reading Konosuke Matsushita’s book ‘What I want people who become leaders to know’. I’ve been reading a lot of audibles, YouTube and newsletters lately, but it’s still good to read a book.
In his book, Matsushita wrote
If you can succeed at one thing, you can succeed at anything. If you can’t succeed at one thing, you can’t succeed at everything. Above all, do not stop trying until you get the hang of it. And without a sense of mission and without energy, without those two things, there is no real success”.
This may well be true. The swimming coach who was always competing for first, second and third place in the national championships. When he started doing triathlons, he quickly became one of the top triathletes in the event, with great focus and energy, even though he had never done a bike or run before.
People who have done one thing tend to stick with it in other things. That’s been the case with some of the people I’ve met.
People who have achieved something in business by starting something from scratch and sticking with it will always achieve it, even if they have never done any sport before.
Conversely, people who have achieved something in sport will also persist in achieving other things. So it might actually make sense for companies to hire people who are former ●● representatives.
I have to persevere until I have learned the tricks of success in my own body. Train for it every day.
