訃報。素潜り「ディープブレス」

フリーダイビング、素潜りのドキュメント「ディープブレス」を見た。

自分にとってフリーダイビングといえばなんといっても、ジャックマイヨール。リュックベッソン監督の作品ジャックマイヨールをモデルとしたというグランブルーは、学生のころ何度見たことか！！

Netflixのドキュメント「ディープブレス」はその世界を描いたドキュメント。やはりすごい世界だ。

昨日、高所登山で大変お世話になった恩師のお一人が亡くなったという訃報を受け取った。

「準備をしっかりしプロとして山に登るものは、入念な準備をし、リスクも受け入れた上で好きでやっていることなんだから、山で何人死んだとか死にのみフォーカスするのはよくない」

恩師がおっしゃっていた言葉がいまだに頭から離れない。

高所登山の世界もそうだけれど、セーフティーダイバーのスティーブン・キーナン氏は大変残念な最期だったけれど、フリーダビングに出会えたキーナン氏はやはりとても幸せな人生だったのかもしれない。

Freediving ‘Deep Breath’.
I watched the documentary about freediving , Deep Breath.

For me, freediving is Jacques Mayol. I can’t tell you how many times I watched Luc Besson’s Grand Bleu, which is based on Jacques Mayol’s.

The Netflix documentary Deep Breath is a documentary about freediving world. It’s still an amazing world.

Yesterday I received the news of the death of one of my mentors who was a great help to me in mountaineering.

He said, “Those who climb mountains as professionals do so because they love it, after careful preparation and accepting the risks, so it is not good to focus only on the deaths and how many people have died in the mountains”.

I still can’t get these words out of my head.

As in the world of high altitude mountaineering, safety diver Stephen Keenan had a very sad end, but perhaps he was very lucky to have found freediving.
