I don’t want to be like my father
We have four kids in our family. Children grow up so quickly – the eldest is in junior high school. The youngest is still in kindergarten, but the second and third girls, who are currently in primary school, are growing up one by one and will soon be in junior high school.
Sometimes I want to encourage my children in my own way, but actually it doesn’t make much sense to use my own experience as a motivator. I thought things like not wanting to be like my father might be the biggest motivator for them.
Of course I want to be like my dad! Of course it would be good if the motivation was ‘I want to be like my dad’, but I don’t want to be like my dad. I think that kind of feeling could be a motivation.
Do you want to be like your dad? Don’t you want to be like your dad?
