「ムツゴロウとゆかいな仲間たち」麻雀の腕前初代十段

今月87歳でお亡くなりになったムツゴロウさんこと畑さん。

ムツゴロウさんといえば、やっぱり1980年代の子供たちに大人気のテレビ番組「ムツゴロウとゆかいな仲間たち」自分はまさにその当時、どんぴしゃで夢中だったムツゴロウさん世代。

自分にとっては、ムツゴロウさんといえば、「ムツゴロウとゆかいな仲間たち」というイメージしかなかったけれど、じつは多岐にわたり能力がある方で、麻雀がものすごく強かったらしく日本プロ麻雀連盟最高顧問で初代十段、さらには囲碁もアマチュア五段の腕前だったとのこと。

ひとつの分野で才能のある方が、他の分野でもプロ並みって素敵だ。人生の大先輩方の生き方を知ると自分の生き方を見つめ直す機会になる。自分も子供のような好奇心で、様々な分野に常に夢中になれるようありたい。

Mutsugoro-san

Mutsugoro-san passed away this month at the age of 87.

Mutsugoro-san were obsessed with the popular 1980s children’s TV show Mutsugoro and his Wonderful Friends, which was a real hit with me at the time.

I had only one image of Mutsugoro-san is known as the Animal Kingdom, but in fact he was a man of many talents. He was a very strong mahjong player, the chief adviser of the Japan Professional Mahjong Federation and the first 10th Dan, and he was also a 5th Dan amateur Go player.

It is wonderful that a person who is talented in one field is as good as a professional in another. Knowing the way of life of the older people in my life gives me the opportunity to rethink my own way of life. I always want to be able to be enthusiastic about something.
