Selling exclusivity to millions
On the plane to and from Singapore, I watched Emily Goes to Paris on Netflix all the way through Season 2, which I’ve been meaning to watch but haven’t had the time. It’s definitely interesting!
Watching it made me realise how I thought I was being nice to people in Paris, but I was just imagining it.
And I realised what it meant that my friend, despite speaking English, had also studied French well by going to the University of Solobonne and spoke French fluently.
I read somewhere that the most amazing thing about Bernard Arnault of the LVMH group was that he had “created a business that sells exclusivity to millions of people” – exactly.
Mr Bernard Arnault has managed to sell this seemingly contradictory element to many people. Indeed, he is a contender to be the world’s richest man, along with Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and others.
