Curiosity is born out of a ‘void of information’.
Recently, I often go to the library to borrow picture story shows for my youngest son, who is four years old, and I happened to find a magazine ‘Kodomo no Kagaku’ (Children’s Science) next to the picture story shows.
It is also very interesting for adults to read. My three older children are at primary school. I borrowed a copy of Kodomo no Kagaku and put it on the desk in the living room, and they just leafed through it, reading the parts that interested them.
Curiosity, it is said, is born out of a ‘void of information’. Curiosity is low even when there is no information. On the other hand, it is also low when all the information is available.
Personally, I believe that whether or not you can live a happy life depends on whether or not you have curiosity.
I find primary school maths and science books interesting. I hope that children will always be curious. And I hope I will always be curious myself.
