夢物語か現実か？中学受験の漫画「二月の勝者」
今日は、中学受験の漫画「二月の勝者」を一巻からいっきに読んだ。
じつはうちも中学受験。うちの長女が近くの公立の中高一貫校を受験したいということで、遅ればせながら昨年の夏より塾に通っていて、テストが来週。
これを見ると、本当の中学受験というのは、ここまでなのかとビックリする。
そもそも、なぜ中学受験をするのか？子供に良い人生を送ってもらいたいから？
確かに、人間は環境に大きく左右されるので、周りの環境というのはものすごく大切だろう。
自分の場合も経験がある。たとえば、周りに自分で稼いだことがない人ばかりの時だと、自分で稼ぐというのはものすごく大変に思えるけれど、周りが1から自分で物事をはじめ、自分で稼ぐのが当たり前の状況だと、自分で稼ぐということについて苦手感がなくなる。
またスポーツでもそう。エベレストに実際に登った人が周りにって、「エベレストは、しっかりした順序でいけばぜんぜん登れるよ」なんて言われる状況だとエベレストに登るということが、夢物語でなく、現実のものになる。ウルトラレース系、515kmのトライアスロンを実際に完走した人に「ぜんぜんいけますよ！」と言われれば、ぜんぜんいけるののになる。
なので、身近な環境、身近でお付き合いをさせていただく方がどういった方かというのは、間違いなく人生において重要だ。
なので、いい学校に入って、向上心のある友人や先生に囲まれるというのは、間違いなくきっと素晴らしいことだ。
ただし、これは受験でいい学校にいけなくても、なんとでもなる。有名な方でも本当に会いたいと思えば大抵会える。有名な方でも本当にご一緒したいと思えば大抵ご一緒できる。実際に会いに行ってしまえばよいのだ。実際自分が常にそうだった。
また自分の場合は、幸運にも、うちのおじさんや祖父が、独立した人で良い意味で変だった。
受験がすべてのような印象をうけた「二月の勝者」を読んでいて、ずっと何か違和感があったのは、この部分だった。
環境は大事だ。そして環境を整備することは最も効率が良いのは確かだ。ただ、環境は、どうとでも自分で整備できる。そして、環境は自分でこそ作るべきだ。

Dream Story or Reality? Manga about junior high school entrance exams ‘February Winner
Today I read the manga about junior high school entrance exams, ‘February Winner’,
Actually, Our eldest daughter wants to take the entrance exam for a nearby public integrated junior and senior high school, so she has been attending cram school since last summer, and her exam is next week.
This makes me wonder how far away the real junior high school entrance exam is.
Why take the junior high school entrance exam at all? Because you want your child to have a good life?
Certainly, people are greatly influenced by their environment, so the environment around them is extremely important.
I have experienced this in my own case. For example, if you’re surrounded by people who’ve never made money for themselves, it seems very difficult to make money for yourself, but if you’re surrounded by people who’ve started things from scratch and making money for themselves is the norm, you don’t feel so bad about making money for yourself.
It is the same in sport. If there are people around you who have actually climbed Mount Everest and they tell you that you can climb Mount Everest if you follow the right order, then climbing Mount Everest becomes a reality rather than a pipe dream. If someone who has actually completed an ultra marathon or a 515 km triathlon says, “You can do it!” then you can do it.
So the kind of people you surround yourself with and the kind of people you surround yourself with are definitely important in life.
So getting into a good school and being surrounded by ambitious friends and teachers is definitely a wonderful thing.
But even if you don’t get into a good school for your exams, you can still make it. Even famous people can usually meet you if they really want to. You can usually meet famous people if you really want to. You just have to go and meet them. That was always the case for me.
And in my case, Fortunately, our uncles and grandfathers were independent and weird in a good way.
When I read ‘February Winner’, which gave the impression that it was all about the exams, that was the part that always made me feel a bit strange.
The environment is important. And it is certainly the most efficient way to develop the environment. But you can create your own environment any way you like. And you should make the environment yourself.
