子育ては人生の修行。主導権を握っているつもりでも、子供に常に翻弄されている。

子供と一緒に1日過ごすと本当に疲れる。仕事よりも疲れる。

その理由は、自分の予想の範疇を超えてくるから。大人と子供が一緒にいるとき、じつは、その場を支配しているのは子どもたち。大人が、主導権を握っているつもりでも、子供に常に翻弄されている。

食事をするはずの場で追いかけっこを始める。騒ぎ出す。突然逃げる。子どもたちの果てしない遊び心に、大人は翻弄される。すっかり振り回されてしまう。だからイライラする。

大人になると、ある程度秩序のある世界になるけれど、子育ては、完全にそれを通り越して、予想外の連続。

修行だ。子育てとは、常に人生の修行だ。

Parenting is a life discipline. I think I am taking the initiative, but I am constantly at the mercy of my children.

Spending a day with children is really tiring. It is more exhausting than work.

The reason for this is that they go beyond expectations. When adults and children are together, it is actually the children who are in control of the situation. The adults think they are in charge, but they are constantly at the mercy of the children.

They start chasing each other in the place where they are supposed to be eating. They start to make a fuss. Suddenly they run away. Adults are at the mercy of children’s endless playfulness. They are completely swept away. That’s why we get frustrated.

As an adult, the world becomes somewhat ordered, but parenting is a series of unexpected things that completely pass you by.

It’s a discipline. Parenting is always a discipline of life.
