海賊になれるなら、なぜ海軍に入るんだ？
スティーブ・ジョブズ氏の言葉。
よく知られている訳としては「海軍に入るくらいなら、海賊になったほうがいい」
ニュアンスとして、海賊になれるなら、なぜ海軍に入るんだ？でも、海軍に入るくらいなら、海賊になったほうがいいでも、誰かの下で安住を求めるより、自らの手で舵を取り大海原で暴れ回ったほうが断然楽しい的なニュアンスなのだろう。
うちの娘たちもあと数年で、あっという間に中学生。将来の成りたいもの、やりたいことが話題に上がってくることがチラチラでてきた最近、うちの娘たちにもやはり言いたい。
