10の18乗、100光年
自分が辿れる記憶はだいたい3、4歳まで。その前の記憶はまったくない。今うちの一番下の子は1歳だけれど、この間の記憶はやっぱりまったくなくなるのだろうか。
10の18乗、100光年。光の早さで100年の距離。光の早さでも100年かかるこの地点からだと、たとえこの場所から高性能な望遠鏡などで地球が見えたとしても、100年前の地球しか見ることができない世界。
10の21乗、10万光年。光の早さで10万年の距離。銀河系が大きく広がる世界。10万年前の地球しか見ることができない世界。
10の24乗、1億光年。銀河すらなくなる世界。１億年前の地球しか見ることが見えない世界。
映画『インターステラ』じゃないけれど、過去も未来もこういった意味では行き来できる。時間や記憶などに思いを寄せると、結局このような思考になり、堂々めぐりする。世界って本当に不思議だ。
