「新品眼鏡とヴィンテージ、どっちに絞るべき？」

「実店舗かECか、どちらが正解？」

「新店舗かポップアップか、どちらが正解？」

「中国から仕入れた商品、日本の職人の商品？」

二択で悩んでいる時間があったら、両方やる。

今の時代、事業設計はAIに相談できるし、
リサーチも無限にできる。
完璧な事業計画書を作ること自体は、もう難しくないのかもしれない。

ただ、AIで完璧な計画を作っても、実際にビジネスを始めてみると、想像がつかないことがいくつも起きる。

市場の反応。
競合の動き。
内部のボトルネック。

机上の設計では見えなかった壁に、必ずぶつかる。

たとえば Amazon でさえ、鳴り物入りでスタートした無人コンビニや、
一時期話題になった Dash Button など、撤退した事業の方が成功した事業よりもはるかに多い。

だからこそ、悩んでいる時間が一番もったいない。

悩んでいるくらいなら、両方やってみる。

たとえば娘たちが、
ピアノもやりたい、バレエもやりたい、プログラミングも気になる──
そう言うなら、「どれか一つにしなさい」なんて言わなくていい。

時間と体力の許す限り、全部やってみればいい。
合わなければやめればいい。

その繰り返しが、結局いちばんの正解なのかもしれない。

“Should I focus on new frames or vintage frames?”
“Is a physical store better, or should I prioritize e-commerce?”
“Should I open a new shop or do pop-ups?”
“Should I buy from China or from Japanese craftsmen?”

If you have time to worry about which one is correct, it’s faster to do both.

Today, you can ask AI for business design advice,
and you can research endlessly.
Creating a “perfect” business plan on paper is no longer that difficult.

But even if AI helps you create the perfect plan,
once you actually start the business,
things you never imagined will always appear—
market reactions, competitor movements, internal bottlenecks.

There will always be walls you couldn’t see from the desk.

Even Amazon, with all its resources, has far more failed or discontinued projects
than successful ones—
like the cashierless convenience stores or the once-hyped Dash Button.

That’s why the time spent hesitating is the most wasteful.

If you’re stuck between two choices, try both.

If my daughters said they wanted to learn piano, and ballet,
and also wanted to try programming,
I wouldn’t make them choose just one.

As long as their time and energy allow,
they can try everything.
If something doesn’t fit, they can quit.

In the end, that approach might be the closest thing to the right answer.
