Camper Van Trip: The First Night Was Too Hot, So I Quickly Gave Up on Staying Overnight
I had to abandon the idea of staying in the camper van after the first night because it was just too hot. It felt a bit disappointing to give up so soon after borrowing the van, but it started to feel more like a stage race in a desert marathon. While that might be okay in a different context, it wasn’t what I had in mind for this trip, so I quickly changed plans. Last night, I ended up staying in a dormitory at a place called “Umi no Hotel” in Hayama, which I happened to find. I was reminded just how wonderful life with air conditioning and a proper bath truly is.
I had this vague, romantic notion of buying a camper van, but after this experience, I realized that I might be better off traveling in a regular car and staying at hotels. As with most things, you really need to experience it for yourself to know what works best.
